Filling The Technology Gap
In order to build and staff its forefront media design computer facility, the Multimedia Arts & Design Academy must find community support. To encourage community investments, the district and the state* have offered to match local contributions (and so the benefits of our investment in the Academy are immediately trebled!).
Our goals for community support have been figured on the funds needed to realize and maintain our computer facilities. Each year the MAD Academy needs to raise a total of $175,000. This total includes investments of cash or securities, in-kind donations, and other contributions.
We are deeply grateful to the Media Arts Parent Group for their help. We are also grateful to all of the contributors who are helping to realize this educational endeavor in Santa Barbara.
*The State of California and the Santa Barbara High School District have generously pledged to provide additional support for the Academy equal to community investments (up to $81,000 per year).
